A superb and true English heavy baluster goblet, having a round funnel bowl with a solid base containing a small tear. Just below the bowl the stem begins with a large, teared, triple annular knop, continuing into a teared straight section above a basal knop, all above a domed foot.

This wonderful example has a gutsy presence, standing 7 1/16" tall, with a bowl diameter of 3 1/8" and a foot diameter of 3 1/2". Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration. Great color, striations, ...

An absolutely wonderful and highly amusing engraved baluster glass, actually a goblet, of soda metal. The round funnel bowl, which has a beaded base, is engraved with two rabbits carrying a dog in a sedan chair. The reverse side of the bowl says, in Old German, "Man Mus Einen Seinen Gute & Thun", which roughly translates as "You have to do good things for your enemies." Clearly the rabbits are following that advice so as to not be chased or eaten by the dog.

A beautifully painted portrait of a well-dressed gentleman. As superb as the painting is, it is matched by the reverse of the miniature, which has interwoven plaits of hair and an organic plaque decorated with the initials "EW" on a monument which is topped with a quiver and arrow.

A beautifully executed English lead wine glass with a round funnel bowl engraved and polished with a butterfly, grapes, and vines. A straight hollow stem leads to a domed and folded foot with a rough pontil. An almost identical example is shown in Plate 78g of Haynes.

An unusually large and beautiful wine glass or small goblet with a deep and crisp honeycomb molded ogee bowl. The stem features an uncommon multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) corkscrew cable. Conical foot with a rough, snapped pontil.

Superb condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or other problems. 6 3/4" tall, 2 1/2" bowl diameter, 3" foot diameter.

From the latter half of the 19th century, this beautifully proportioned iron vane graced the spire of the United Baptist Church in Ellsworth, Maine. In 1933, a major fire swept through the town, burning many of the buildings, including the church. When the church was finally rebuilt, the council wanted a more modern look, and stored the vane in the basement, where it remained for the next 70 years or so. A beautiful example of a "Warren Hastings" type Chelsea porcelain plate, molded with a rococo style border reserved with three scroll-edged panels painted with landscapes including a lake, distant towers, woods and figures. There are mixed flower sprays, smaller sprigs and a butterfly in the center, with the rim picked out with a brownish red line. Red anchor mark and stilt marks on the reverse. A finely limned miniature portrait painting by Andrew Plimer. The sitter, a beautiful young woman with dark hair and blue eyes, is wearing a high-necked white dress, a pearl necklace and a pearl barette. She is posed against a cloud filled blue sky. The glazed elaborate reverse has a lock of dark brown hair set with a gilt crescent moon, and a blue enamel plaque set with the initials "GP" picked out with pearls, all against foil backed opalescent glass.

A charming and well-limned portrait on organic wafer, of a young boy in a red dress, holding a ring. The glazed aperture on the back of the foliate cast case contains a photograph of what might be the sitter.

A beautiful set of four deep cobalt blue glass water goblets. The large ogee bowls have wide fluting and sit atop a bladed knop on a plain stem.

The glasses are 5 5/8" tall, with a bowl diameter of 4 3/8, and a foot diameter of 3 1/2". Polished pontil. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or restoration.

A striking engraved and flashed beaker depicting a woman on a plinth in a classical Roman robe, holding laurel wreaths, with classical buildings and an eagle on a column Underneath this is engraved in German: "Those who put forth the effort will receive the prizes." The flashed lower part of the beaker features cut semi-roundels and other cutting above a scalloped base with a cross-hatched cut bottom.

A beautiful American ring, marked 14K gold, set with a large central pearl surrounded by 12 deep blue sapphires. Excellent condition with a ring size of 7 3/4.

A large and exceptional example of fine American tinsel or foil painting featuring a pair of pheasants on branches, surrounded by a wreath of flowers. The scene has the rare "snowflake" type of background. Although tinsel painting was at its height in America from 1850 to 1890 the snowflake technique appears to have been done primarily in the 1870's period.

A superbly painted miniature portrait by the important American miniaturist Anson Dickinson, originally in a heavy wooden frame that was damaged, but now housed under glass in one half of a dag case.
