A beautiful example of a Lowestoft porcelain pickle leaf dish with a grape and vine decoration and the berry border. Vein molded on the reverse. The foot rim has a workman's mark.

The condition is excellent, with no flaws. Light areas in the photo are due to reflections as opposed to paint loss. Width is 3 1/2" and the length is 4".

An excellent example of an uncommon form, a Lowestoft hand painted butter boat, showing two houses on an island and with a lattice border on the leaf-shaped piece, and with an angular stalk handle. Retains the label of Rod Jellicoe, a well-known dealer in English porcelain.

The condition is excellent, with bright colors and no chips, cracks, paint loss, or restoration. 2 1/4" long by 2" wide.

A fine example of the rare Lowestoft porcelain "Mandarin Green Window" pattern made between 1768 and 1775.

The bowl and saucer are in very good condition, with the saucer having a small flaw, which appears to be in the making, at the edge at 11 o'clock. The bowl has no issues at all. Colors are much stronger than shown in the photos. The saucer is 5" in diameter, and the bowl is 1 3/4" in height.

A beautiful polychrome Lowestoft creamer, of the Chelsea Ewer, or Dolphin Ewer, form, in a highly desirable small size. The body is molded and painted, in the style of the "Tulip Painter", with a variety of leaves and flowers in bright, vibrant colors.

Superb condition, with no chips, cracks, restoration, or paint loss. The length, from spout tip to the end of the handle, is 3 3/4", the height is 3", and the width is 2".

A finely painted miniature portrait of a handsome dark-haired young gentleman in a blue jacket, and a white waistcoat and stock. Presented in a rolled gold case with a glazed reverse. Though unsigned, there is a taped pencil inscription with artist's name en verso.

The condition is excellent with no issues to speak of. The overall size is 2 3/8" by 2 1/8".

An English 18th century porcelain pickle dish made at the Limehouse Manufactory, in perfect condition. This exceptionally rare piece is molded in the form of a scallop shell, and is painted in underglaze blue, based on a K'ang Hsi pattern, with a Chinese vase containing two feathers. This type ware is often mistakenly referred to as Leeds and feather edge. In reality, many factories other than Leeds made pearlware items of this nature, and the type edge here is more properly called a molded edge. An ornate and huge Bohemian antique glass goblet of baluster form. The round funnel bowl is cut all over with hexagons, the top row of which forms round arches. The elaborately worked stem contains two flattened knops, each cut with roundels, and a truncated inverted baluster knop cut with hexagons mirroring the bowl. A total of about 12 merises surround the knops.

Between the shoulder knop and the bowl is a plain straight section of stem which might almost qualify this glass a composite stem type. A very fine miniature bust length silhouette on natural organic material by John Miers. The piece is signed along the left side of the bust line. As is usual with his best examples, this painting shows very finely executed bronzed work. The interior of the top is glazed with a hairwork enclosed. A fine portrait miniature attributed to John Downman, although Charles Hayter is a secondary possibility. Simply attired in a white gown, and with powdered hair, the sitter is shown with a pensive and somewhat downcast expression. Presented in a gold frame, the glazed reverse having a plaited hair border and a hairwork wheat-sheaf with seed pearls on opalescent glass. A beautifully executed miniature folk art watercolor on thin card portrait by J. H. Gillespie, housed in a cast foliate metal locket with an aperture on the reverse.

A spectacular First Period Worcester porcelain dish decorated by James Giles. The dish is quite large, at 9 1/4" in diameter, and is molded with an undulating border, wide fluting running from the edges to the recessed central scalloped area. The overall form is that of a soup dish, but it appears to be overly large for that. That area is decorated with three beautiful butterflies around a central flower sprig. This is a superbly rendered watercolor on paper attributed to Henry Walton. The name of the sitter, John Andrew Jenny, is written in pencil at the top of the painting, in penmanship not unlike Walton's.

A beautiful set of 6 Art Nouveau studs or buttons, each with a bas relief image of a woman playing a lyre. They bear the hallmarks for Birmingham sterling silver, 1907, and the maker's initials, "R & W". Accompanying the buttons are the sterling silver cross pins that go through the rear loop. All these are housed in the original leather case with velvet lining.

A nicely decorated document box featuring red and black grain painting, the edges with yellow and green striping.

The box is 13 1/4 inches in length, 7 1/4 inches in depth, and 6 1/2 inches tall. Overall condition is excellent, with no cracks or breaks, and virtually all of the original, unrestored paint is present. The lock and hinges are original and in fine shape. There is the normal amount of wear along some of the box edges.

An extremely fine antique English porcelain coffee can, of flared form, made by the Chamberlain Worcester factory. The cup features a beautiful bouquet of flowers and stunning gilding on the borders, the entire interior, and the entire handle. It is fully marked with painted red script on the bottom. The handle is quite unusual and uncommon, not even appearing in Geoffrey Godden's book on Chamberlain Worcester.

A beautiful and striking gold bangle bracelet having a black enamel ground. The raised central dome has 8 emeralds surrounding a higher area topped with a gold 8 leaved flower with a diamond.

Marked 14K gold, and with fine workmanship, the bracelet is in excellent condition. The inside of the bangle measures 2 1/2" by 1 5/8".

A beautiful 18th century glass sweetmeat with a dentated (cogwheel) rim (21 teeth) on a double ogee bowl above a multiple spiral opaque twist stem with a shoulder inverted baluster knop. The foot is radially rib molded with a rough, snapped pontil.

Condition is excellent with good tooling marks and color. The height is 3 3/8 " with a bowl diameter of 4 inches and a foot diameter of 2 1/2".

A beautiful double series opaque twist (DSOT) firing glass of dram size. The ogee bowl leads into a stem containing a central pair of spiral tapes with an 11 ply band outside of them. outside of an inner gauze.

The scene depicts a country path following beside a river and wending around a wooden house. A fine 19th century miniature version of Gilbert Stuart's "Lansdowne" portrait, the iconic 1796 life size portrait of George Washington. The painting here is done in watercolor and gouache on organic wafer. From its origin until the present day many copies of the portrait have been made, but very few on ivory.

This 3 1/8" by 2 1/2" example is in excellent condition, with no issues. The 11" by 9 3/4" gilt over gesso frame is period and might be original.

A superb Derby porcelain coffee can displaying a wrecked ship and rescue efforts. This can was painted by George Robertson, whose depictions of ships and maritime scenes are among the most highly sought after and collected items of Derby porcelain. This particular scene, named on the bottom in blue script, is "A Shipwreck After a Storm."

The gilding on the cup, both in the interior leaf and berry border, and throughout the exterior of the can, is of the high quality that Derby was known for. I...

A c1800 miniature, reasonably attributed to George Place. The silver shoulder belt plate indicates that the sitter was an officer in the 54th (West Norfolk) Regiment of Foot, c.1800 - 1810. The single epaulette on the right at this period shows he was an Ensign, Lieutenant, or Captain. The framed size of this piece, in its later frame with fabric backing, is 2 5/8" by 2 1/8". The white area at the top of the photo is a reflection.

A striking miniature with a good attribution to George Newcombe. As opposed to the more usual bust length rendering, this is a 3/4 length pose. That, combined with the style of the dress, intentionally gives a longer, or imposing, feel to the figure.

When the organic substrate of the painting was trimmed, it was done unevenly and close to an edge, so it could be framed better than in the current half of a travel case. Sight size is 3 1/8" by 2 1/2".

A portrait miniature, on natural wafer, of a young woman with a mien that might be described as a remembrance of things past. The sitter is wearing a mauve gown, a white fichu, and a tortoiseshell comb in her hair.

A charming portrait miniature that can be strongly attributed to the highly thought of artist Francois Dumont (1751-1831). A charming folk art, watercolor on paper, portrait of a very pretty young woman. She is wearing a mourning band on each arm, and is sitting quietly on a chair, with the sheet music of "The Julia Polka" on her lap. Since the painting is titled, in pencil along the lower margin, "Julia ???", the most likely explanation is that this is Julia, mourning for the loved one who probably wrote the song for her. A Dr. Wall Worcester saucerdish in the "L'Amour" pattern; superb condition; 7.3" diameter

An uncommon form (only one or two were part of a full service), made by Worcester in the Dr. Wall period. The design has a central rose surrounded by garlands of flowers in cartouches, all done in a soft European palette. Alternating with these cartouches are others that are pure white, making this decoration very unusual. The background of the dish is, of course, the desirable blue scale made so famous by Worcester.
